What is the point of Wicked Uncle?
To make life easier for you. With Wicked Uncle, you will never miss a birthday or Christmas again. We'll email you with a selection of children's gifts so that you don't have to worry about what six year olds are doing with their time these days. Our children's gifts will keep them happy and give you more Grown-Up Time, all from the comfort of your mouse.
How do I know this kid will like the present?
Because we say the kid will like it (and of course, we've done our homework). We've put a lot of effort into finding the range of children's gifts that we offer so that you don't have to worry about it. Find out more about how we choose presents for children.
How does the birthday reminder service work?
Once we know the birthday or even approximate birthday date of any kid you are connected to, we send you a birthday reminder email in plenty of time, reminding you of the need to buy a present. The email will offer some specific children's gift suggestions. Choose one and you go straight to our website. We'll keep all your details on hand to make buying children's gifts simple and quick. We are aiming at about 40 seconds from opening the email to getting the deal done. We'll also send a reminder around Christmas time just in case the occasion had slipped your mind.
Why are you called Wicked Uncle?
Because it sounds cool and we're the real thing. Our birthday reminder and children's gifts are going to give you massive street cred and save you time for the really fun things in life. You'll be wondering how you ever survived this world without us... We're also charmingly modest.
Is Wicked Uncle's choice of presents politically incorrect?
Not yet, but we're working on it. We don't however insist that girls only get girly things and we have put some of the fun radio controlled stuff in with the girls. However there won't be any of that girly stuff in the boys' section. (Except for the cooking set, but then Gordon Ramsay is an adequately male role model).
Why should I add a birthday card with children's gifts?
Because even if you buy a really cool present, they still want a card - unreasonable but true. It makes the present more personal and shows that you've made an effort (even if it is all done by us).
Can I personalise the birthday card?
Absolutely. There is a standard default text (Dear Kid, Happy Birthday, Love from Me) for when you are in a hurry, but you can overtype and alter it as you like. (Please try and keep it as cool as the present.)
What happens if the present doesn't arrive?
Sometimes things get lost in the post. Let us know and we'll sort it out. You can email us at cs@wickeduncle.com or call us on 020 7099 3649. We will always do our best to make it right and make sure everyone knows that it is all our fault so that you keep your ethereal glow.
How do I return something?
If you want to return one of our presents for children, Wicked Uncle can either replace, exchange or refund you 110% of what you paid. We can also send out another of the children's gifts from the website.
To return one of our children's gifts, just wrap it up as well as you can, handwrite the Freepost address below on the outside and take it to the Post Office. You don't have to pay for anything so you should be able to drop it in at the post window without queuing.
Please include a piece of paper with your name and address, telephone number and email. As soon as we receive it, we'll process the replacement free of charge.

What if it's broken or doesn't work?
Stop cursing us under your breath, it happens. Return it to us and we'll replace it, give you a 110% refund or send you something else from the website.
Can I get a refund?
We guarantee a 110% refund on what you paid for the present, card, giftwrap and delivery! And we pay for you to send it back to us! But be aware that we can only refund the original credit card holder.
What is the delivery charge?
The cost of delivery in the UK is £3.95 irrespective of size and weight. So if you order something large and expensive it needn't cost you a fortune to ship it. Standard delivery is by Royal Mail which normally takes about 3-4 days. Where we can, we send it by Packet Post, which is quicker. Heavier items can cost more to send by Royal Mail than by courier. In this case, if the price is the same or lower, we may just send it by courier.
We aim to ship everything within 24 hours.
If you need it more urgently, then ask for Express Delivery. We do need to get the order before midday to get it out same day. That is because our warehouse is located in the deep country and the couriers around here are still using horses.
Express Delivery usually means Next Working Day as we cannot guarantee delivery at weekends. It does cost a bit more and the courier will need to get someone to sign for it. Certain far flung parts of the UK may take a little longer, so it is best to reckon on 48 hours.
Isn't it all rather expensive?
Well you are going to have to pay for a present, a birthday card, a roll of gift-wrapping paper and some sellotape anyway. Probably a pair of scissors as well. It also means wrapping the present yourself and let's face it, that is not going to be easy.
Our delivery charge can also be a good (and very green) alternative to driving 100 miles up the M1 to deliver it.
Why don't all the children's gifts come with batteries?
Largely because most manufacturers want to keep their costs down. Batteries are heavy so excluding them brings down the cost of shipping.
Parents these days tend to keep a large battery supply in the house so you should be ok.
